Set in the historic Mar Sarkis monastery carved against Bsharri’s cliffs, the Gibran Museum is dedicated to the Lebanese poet-artist Kahlil Gibran. Founded in 1935, it preserves over four hundred of Gibran’s original paintings and drawings, alongside notebooks, manuscripts, furniture, and keepsakes brought from his New York studio. The museum spans 16 rooms across three levels, culminating at Gibran’s final resting place—a quiet chamber that reflects the valley’s monastic spirit and the themes of love, freedom, and vision found in his work. Visitors come for the art and archives, the contemplative setting, and panoramic views across the Qadisha Valley.
