Mar Saba Cathedral

Mar Saba Cathedral—also called Saint Saba Cathedral—anchors Bsharri’s skyline with its twin towers and domed nave. According to the municipality, the cathedral was built in 1954 during the patriarchate of Mar Antoun Boutros (Anthony) Arida; its exterior is laid out in the form of a cross, with a dome topped by a cross and two spires that frame the main façade. The church serves the Maronite parish of Bsharri and sits near the town’s central square, a short drive from the Cedars of God and overlooks of the Qadisha (Holy) Valley.
