Our Lady Church (Al Saydet Bsharri)

Known locally as كنيسة السيّدة (Our Lady Church), this is Bsharri’s principal parish church. Community records note that the first church rose in the late 18th–19th centuries as the town grew; Youssef Bey Karam donated the main altar in 1869, and later expansions followed. The present building dates to 1970 (during Patriarch Boulos Boutros Al-Maouchi), designed in a basilica plan with three aisles and adorned with murals by artist Assaad Renno. Today it anchors religious life in the town and hosts major feasts—especially the Assumption on 15 August.
